Yukon

Klondike's cousin: move any face-up group of cards, whether or not it is in sequence.

How to play

Seven columns are dealt; the first has one card, the others have a growing stack of face-down cards under five face-up cards. There is no stock.

Build columns downward in alternating colours (red on black, black on red).

You may move any face-up card together with every card on top of it, even if they are not in sequence, as long as the moved card fits on its new column.

Only Kings (with their cards) may fill an empty column.

Build the four foundations up by suit from Ace to King to win.

About Yukon

Yukon is a cousin of Klondike with no stock: all 52 cards are dealt on the table in seven columns, and you may move any face-up card along with everything on top of it, even if they are not in sequence. Columns build down in alternating colours, only Kings fill empty columns, and the foundations build up by suit.

Tips for Yukon

  • Uncover the hidden cards first: every face-down card you turn is a new option.
  • Because you can move any group, look for moves that set up a King-led column early.
  • There is no stock to fall back on, so plan several moves ahead before you commit.
