Rainbow Rush

Match colour or symbol, play action cards and wilds. First to empty their hand wins.

How to play

Play a card matching the colour or symbol (number, Skip, Reverse, Draw 2) of the top card.

Skip jumps the next player; Reverse flips direction (acts as Skip with two players); Draw 2 makes the next player draw two and lose the turn.

Wild lets you name the colour; Wild Draw 4 also makes the next player draw four and lose the turn.

If you cannot play, draw a card; if it fits you may play it or keep it. With the stacking option, penalties can be stacked.

First player out wins; others are ranked by points left (numbers = face value, actions = 20, wilds = 50).

About Rainbow Rush

Rainbow Rush is an original shedding game of colours and symbols, in the same family as Crazy Eights. You match the top card by colour or symbol, with Skip, Reverse, Draw 2 and wild cards to disrupt your opponents, and the first player to empty their hand wins. It supports two to eight players and has an optional rule that lets you stack draw penalties.

Tips for Rainbow Rush

  • Save your wild cards for when you are stuck or for the end of the hand.
  • When you change colour, choose the one you hold the most of.
  • When an opponent is down to a card or two, use Skips and draw cards on them rather than saving them.

Questions about Rainbow Rush

How many people can play Rainbow Rush?

Rainbow Rush is played by between 2 and 8 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Rainbow Rush against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Rainbow Rush online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
