Two decks, ten columns, one pass through the stock. Build eight foundations from Ace to King.

How to play

Click the stock to turn one card onto the waste. You may go through the stock only once.

Move every card to the foundations to win.

About Forty Thieves

Forty Thieves is a two-deck solitaire with ten columns of four cards and only one pass through the stock. Columns build down in the same suit, you can only move the top card of a column, and the eight foundations are built up from Ace to King. It is demanding, so planning ahead matters more than speed.

Tips for Forty Thieves

  • Think before every move: columns build down in the same suit, so a careless move can bury a card you need.
  • Prefer moves that free a card for the foundations over moves that just rearrange the tableau.
  • Keep an empty column in reserve rather than filling it at the first opportunity.
