A real-time race: play cards one rank up or down onto the centre piles and empty your hand first.

How to play

Both players play at the same time. You hold five cards and have a draw pile.

Play a card from your hand onto either centre pile if it is exactly one rank higher or lower than the top card (King and Ace connect).

Your hand refills from your draw pile after each play.

If neither of you can play, press Flip: when both have pressed, each flips a new card onto a centre pile.

The first player to get rid of all their cards wins.

About Speed

Speed is a two-player game played in real time: both players race at once to play cards from their hand onto two centre piles, one rank higher or lower than the top card (King and Ace connect). Your hand refills from your draw pile, and the first player to get rid of every card wins.

Tips for Speed

Keep an eye on both centre piles so you can switch to whichever has a play for you.
Look for runs of consecutive ranks in your hand and play them in order to keep your hand moving.
If neither of you can play, press Flip early so you are not the one waiting.

How many people can play Speed?

Speed is played by exactly 2 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Speed against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Speed online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
