Snap

Play cards in turn and shout Snap when two in a row match.

How to play

The deck is dealt out face down. In turn, each player plays the top card of their stock onto the central pile.

When the top two cards of the pile have the same rank, any player may call Snap! The first to do so wins the whole pile.

If you do not want to react to a match you can let it pass, or simply carry on playing.

The game ends when the player to move has no cards left. Whoever holds the most cards wins.

Good to know

  • Keep your eyes on the top two cards of the pile, not on your own hand.
  • It rewards quick reactions more than strategy, so it works well as a warm-up.
  • You can let a match pass if you are not ready, and simply carry on playing.

Questions about Snap

How many people can play Snap?

Snap is played by between 2 and 4 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Snap against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Snap online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
